United Kingdom Relocation Guide
Everything on our United Kingdom page, taken further and turned into a working file: a 90-page guide with document lists by route from GOV.UK’s own lists, the visa fees, health surcharge and funds for your household, the partner visa’s £29,000 test at every level of income, the purchase taxes of all four nations worked out at five prices, and a month-by-month plan; an Excel workbook that does the arithmetic; and a Word checklist you check off as you go. Every rule and official figure is taken from, or calculated from, an official source, 183 of them, checked on September 25 and October 4, 2026; the worked households use assumed incomes, labeled as such.

What You Get Beyond the Free Page
Our United Kingdom page is free and stays free. The guide adds the parts you need when you actually start the paperwork.
| Chapter or tool | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Three worked households | A retired couple in York, she British and he joining her on the partner route, a family moving to Manchester on one partner’s Skilled Worker job, and a single early retiree for whom we found no route, taken through the visitor rules and the Statutory Residence Test, each with the tests line by line, the first-year fees and the monthly lines with an official figure (composite examples: their incomes and savings are assumptions, not real clients). |
| First-year cost plan | The Home Office fees, the health surcharge, the deposit caps and the official references, and the monthly running costs, with a column for your own figures; it matches the workbook, and it says plainly where no official figure exists. |
| Document tracker and month-by-month plan | Each document by route with where to get it, its time limits and translation rule where an official source states one, plus a plan from 12 months before the move to 3 months after, built around the 3-month application window and the 28-day funds rule, as checklists in Word. |
| Document lists by route | GOV.UK’s own lists for the Skilled Worker, partner, Global Talent, High Potential Individual and Innovator Founder routes and for dependents, dated to the day we read them. |
| Your household’s numbers | The Skilled Worker fees, health surcharge and funds for a main applicant, a partner and 0 to 3 children, the partner visa’s savings at each level of income, and the first-grant cost of each route, in pounds and dollars. |
| Purchase taxes, worked | Stamp Duty Land Tax, LBTT and LTT at five prices, with the first-time buyer, second-home and non-resident cases, and the tax at the average price of each place in the guide. |
| Numbers, deadlines and glossary | Emergency numbers in the official wording, the offices you will deal with and the U.S. Embassy’s lines, the deadlines that repeat, and the local terms you will meet. |

What It Is Not

Questions About the Guide
How is the guide different from your free United Kingdom page?
The page explains the rules; the guide is built for doing the work. It adds three worked household examples, a first-year cost plan, a document tracker and a month-by-month plan, document lists by route, your household’s fees, surcharge and funds, the partner test at every level of income, the purchase taxes worked out at five prices, deadlines, a glossary and key numbers, plus the Excel workbook and the Word checklists.
How current is it?
The sources of our United Kingdom page, and those added for the guide’s own chapters, were read on October 4, 2026, and some shared U.S. federal and EU sources on September 25; each figure is numbered to its source, which is marked with the day it was read. Everything still pending, such as the settlement proposal and the salary lists that end on December 31, 2026, is dated as of October 4, 2026. Each edition is dated; a later edition is a new purchase. If you find an error in your file, we send a corrected copy free.
Does the UK have a retirement visa?
We found none, and no visa for living on savings or working remotely for a U.S. employer. The guide shows what is possible: the partner route if your spouse is British or settled, worked through for a retired couple, and what a visitor with an ETA may and may not do.
Does the guide cover the Skilled Worker visa for a family?
Yes: the salary floors, the fees and health surcharge for each person, the funds for a partner and children, GOV.UK’s document lists, and a worked example of a family moving on one partner’s job.
Is it legal or tax advice?
No. Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains how the rules work in general and lists the questions to take to a regulated immigration adviser and a cross-border tax adviser.
What if a file will not open?
If a file will not open, email us with your order number and we will put it right by sending you a working copy free of charge.
Will my card statement say Quantum Jetset?
It will show MEGACOMMERCIALENT, the payment name of Mega Commercial Enterprises Limited, the Irish company behind Quantum Jetset.
Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains the rules in general, with official sources checked on September 25 and October 4, 2026; check the source before you act and speak to a licensed professional where it matters.
