North Macedonia Relocation Guide

Everything on our North Macedonia page, taken further and turned into a working file: a 78-page guide with document lists by route from the Ministry of Interior’s own lists of June 2026 and the Foreign Ministry’s visa page, the Ministry’s payments and the visa fees for your household, the €40,000 home-owner test and its limit, the transfer and property taxes worked out at five prices, and a month-by-month plan; an Excel workbook that does the arithmetic; and a Word checklist you check off as you go. Every rule and official figure is taken from, or calculated from, an official source, 89 of them, checked on October 8, 2026; every figure that changes is dated, with the official place to check it; the worked households use assumed incomes, labeled as such.

What You Get Beyond the Free Page

Our North Macedonia page is free and stays free. The guide adds the parts you need when you actually start the paperwork.

Chapter or toolWhy it matters
Three worked householdsA retired couple on Social Security and a pension buying in Ohrid, a couple with two children moving for a job in Skopje, and a single early retiree on investment income buying in Bitola, each taken through the route the rules point to, the tests line by line, the first-year fees and the monthly lines with an official figure (composite examples: their incomes, savings and home prices are assumptions, not real clients).
First-year cost planThe Ministry of Interior’s fee and payments, the visa fee, the legal rules and the official references, and the monthly running costs, with a column for your own figures; it matches the workbook, and it says plainly where no official figure exists, such as a rent by town or a health insurance premium.
Document tracker and month-by-month planEach document by route with where to get it and the age limits and translation rules the Ministry’s lists state, plus a plan from 12 months before the move to 3 months after, built around the visa window, the decision deadlines and the 3-day registration, as checklists in Word.
Document lists by routeWhat the Ministry of Interior’s lists of June 2026 ask for family of a Macedonian citizen, employment, family reunification, study, renewals and permanent residence, the Foreign Ministry’s list for the long-stay visa, and what the law asks of a home owner, dated to the version we read.
Your household’s numbersThe Ministry’s payments and the visa fees for 1 to 4 adults and 0 to 3 children, and the €40,000 figure in euros, dollars and denars; the guide says plainly that the law sets no income or savings figure.
Purchase costs, workedThe transfer tax and the yearly property tax at five prices, at the bottom and top of the legal ranges and at Kumanovo’s rates, with the €40,000 test for a home bought alone or jointly.
Numbers, deadlines and glossaryEmergency numbers in the official wording, the offices you will deal with, the deadlines that repeat, the figures that change with where to check them, and the local terms you will meet.

Made For

  • Americans who have chosen North Macedonia, or narrowed it to North Macedonia and one other country.
  • People with a job offer in North Macedonia, or a business of their own there, and the families moving with them.
  • People with a Macedonian spouse or family.
  • Retirees and others who plan to buy a home and want to know what the home-owner permit can and cannot do.
  • Anyone who wants to arrive at a lawyer’s or tax adviser’s office already knowing the rules.

What It Is Not

  • Legal, tax or immigration advice. It explains the rules in general; your case needs your advisers.
  • A retirement or digital nomad visa: the law’s list of residence grounds has none, and the guide says so, with the routes a home, a job or family can open.
  • Residence or citizenship by investment: there is no investor residence permit, and the guide does not quote investor-citizenship amounts it could not confirm.

Questions About the Guide

How is the guide different from your free North Macedonia page?

The page explains the rules; the guide is built for doing the work. It adds three worked household examples, a first-year cost plan, a document tracker and a month-by-month plan, document lists by route from the Ministry of Interior’s own lists, the fees for your household, the property taxes worked out at five prices, deadlines, a glossary and key numbers, plus the Excel workbook and the Word checklists.

How current is it?

Every source was read on October 8, 2026, and each figure is numbered to its source. Official Gazette issues published after February 5, 2026 could not be read, and the guide says so where it matters. Every figure that changes carries its date and the official place to check it. Each edition is dated; a later edition is a new purchase. If you find an error in your file, we send a corrected copy free.

Does North Macedonia have a retirement visa?

No. The law’s closed list of residence grounds has no retirement, passive-income or digital nomad ground. The closest route for a retiree is the home-owner permit for a home worth at least €40,000, which runs a year at a time and does not lead to permanent residence while you hold it; the guide works it through for two households.

Does the guide cover working in North Macedonia?

Yes: the single permit for work and residence, the employer’s notarized guarantee, the Ministry of Interior’s document list, the 2026 quota, a month’s pay from gross to net, and a worked example of a family moving on a job offer in Skopje.

Is it legal or tax advice?

No. Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains how the rules work in general and lists the questions to take to a licensed lawyer and a cross-border tax adviser.

What if a file will not open?

If a file will not open, email us with your order number and we will put it right by sending you a working copy free of charge.

Will my card statement say Quantum Jetset?

It will show MEGACOMMERCIALENT, the payment name of Mega Commercial Enterprises Limited, the Irish company behind Quantum Jetset.

Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains the rules in general, with official sources checked on October 8, 2026; check the source before you act and speak to a licensed professional where it matters.
