Monaco Relocation Guide

Everything on our Monaco page, taken further and turned into a working file: a 76-page guide with document lists by situation from the Government’s own lists, the residence-card fees for your household, the purchase duties worked out at five prices, and a month-by-month plan; an Excel workbook that does the arithmetic; and a Word checklist you check off as you go. Every rule and official figure is taken from, or calculated from, an official source, 105 of them, checked on October 8 and 9, 2026; every figure that changes is dated, with the official place to check it; the worked households use assumed incomes, labeled as such.

What You Get Beyond the Free Page

Our Monaco page is free and stays free. The guide adds the parts you need when you actually start the paperwork.

Chapter or toolWhy it matters
Three worked householdsA retired couple on Social Security and a pension renting in La Condamine, a remote-working couple with two children, for whom no route is built for remote work, and a single early retiree on investment income buying in Les Moneghetti, each taken through the route the rules point to, the conditions and the money line by line, the first-year fees and the monthly lines with an official figure (composite examples: their incomes and savings are assumptions, not real clients).
First-year cost planThe card fees, the lease and purchase duties, the legal limits and the official references, and the monthly running costs, with a column for your own figures; it matches the workbook, and it says plainly where no official figure exists, such as a savings amount, a rent for a modern building or a health insurance premium.
Document tracker and month-by-month planEach document by situation with where to get it and the three-month and one-month age limits and translation rule the Government sets, plus a plan from 12 months before the move to 3 months after, built around the lease registration, the time-limited records and the French visa, as checklists in Word.
Document lists by situationWhat the Government’s own lists ask for the residence card: the proof of housing, the proof of resources for savers, retirees, employees, founders and supported family members, the other documents, children under 16 and renewal, each dated to the version we read; and how the French visa step works.
Your household’s numbersThe residence-card fees, the renewals, the free travel documents for children under 16 and the other official fees, for 1 to 4 adults and 0 to 3 children, in euros and dollars, and why Monaco publishes no savings figure.
Purchase costs, workedThe registration duty for an individual, at the general rate and for an undisclosed owner, with the transcription duty, at five prices, and the floor area each price buys at the 2025 district averages.
Numbers, deadlines and glossaryEmergency numbers in the official wording, the offices and the French consulates you will deal with, the deadlines that repeat, the figures that change with where to check them, and the local terms you will meet.

Made For

  • Americans who have chosen Monaco, or narrowed it to Monaco and one other country.
  • People with substantial savings or a pension who can rent or buy in Monaco, and people with a job or a business there.
  • The spouses and children moving with them.
  • Anyone who wants to arrive at a lawyer’s or tax adviser’s office already knowing the rules.

What It Is Not

  • Legal, tax or immigration advice. It explains the rules in general; your case needs your advisers.
  • A published savings figure to aim at: Monaco has none, the Monaco bank that issues your certificate sets it, and the guide says so.
  • A way to cut your U.S. tax bill: Monaco levies no income tax on residents who are not French, but with no treaty the United States taxes you in full.

Questions About the Guide

How is the guide different from your free Monaco page?

The page explains the rules; the guide is built for doing the work. It adds three worked household examples, a first-year cost plan, a document tracker and a month-by-month plan, document lists by situation, the card fees for your household, the purchase duties at five prices, deadlines, a glossary and key numbers, plus the Excel workbook and the Word checklists.

How current is it?

The Monaco page’s sources were read on October 8, 2026, and those added for the guide on October 9, 2026; each figure is numbered to its source, which is marked with the day it was read. Figures that change, such as fees, contribution ceilings, the minimum wage, tariffs and the exchange rate, are dated, and the guide lists when they usually change and the official place to check the current one. Where we found no official figure, such as a savings amount or a rent for a modern building, the guide says so. Each edition is dated; a later edition is a new purchase. If you find an error in your file, we send a corrected copy free.

How much money do I need to live in Monaco?

There is no official figure. For people living on savings, the Government says the amount judged sufficient depends on the Monaco bank that issues the certificate. The guide does not repeat the figures quoted in the press; its workbook lets you compare your savings with the figure your bank gives you.

Does the guide cover the French visa?

Yes, as far as official sources go: why you need a French long-stay settlement visa first, where you apply, how the France-Visas wizard gives the document list and fee for your case, and the French consulates in the United States with the states each covers.

Is it legal or tax advice?

No. Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains how the rules work in general and lists the questions to take to a licensed lawyer and a cross-border tax adviser.

What if a file will not open?

If a file will not open, email us with your order number and we will put it right by sending you a working copy free of charge.

Will my card statement say Quantum Jetset?

It will show MEGACOMMERCIALENT, the payment name of Mega Commercial Enterprises Limited, the Irish company behind Quantum Jetset.

Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains the rules in general, with official sources checked on October 8 and 9, 2026; check the source before you act and speak to a licensed professional where it matters.
