What You Get Beyond the Free Page
Our France page is free and stays free. The guide adds the parts you need when you actually start the paperwork.
| Chapter or tool | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Three worked households | A retired couple and a single early retiree on the visitor card, and an employee family on the EU Blue Card, each taken through the money test, first-year fees and a monthly budget from official figures (composite examples). |
| First-year cost plan | Every one-off official fee and legal limit, and the monthly running costs, with a column for your own figures; it matches the workbook. |
| Document tracker and month-by-month plan | Each document by card with where to get it and any age limit, plus a plan from 12 months before the move to 3 months after, as checklists in Word. |
| Document checklists by card | The Service-Public.fr document lists for the visitor, talent, Blue Card, business, investor and entrepreneur cards, as lists you can check off, dated to the version we read. |
| Your household’s numbers | Every 2026 money test in euros and dollars, and the family reunification thresholds and minimum floor areas by family size. |
| Purchase costs, worked | Département transfer duty and the notary’s regulated fee at five prices, the first-time buyer rule and the départements still below 5%. |
| The inbound-worker regime | Article 155 B for employees recruited from abroad: who it covers, how long it lasts, the flat 30% option and the limit that trips people up. |
| Costs for 12 cities | Official rents on two measures, electricity and transit references, and a budget that converts to dollars. |
| Numbers, deadlines and glossary | Emergency numbers in the official wording, U.S. Embassy and consulate contacts, the deadlines that repeat each year, and the French terms you will meet. |

Made For
- Americans who have chosen France, or narrowed it to France and one other country.
- Retirees and people living on pensions or savings, looking at the visitor card.
- Employees with a French job offer weighing a talent card or the EU Blue Card.
- Anyone who wants to arrive at a lawyer’s or tax adviser’s office already knowing the rules.
What It Is Not
- Legal, tax or immigration advice. It explains the rules in general; your case needs your advisers.
- A substitute for the official visa checklist on the day you apply: France-Visas sets it, and we tell you where to find it.
- A guide to other countries. Our Europe-wide planners work alongside it.

Questions About the Guide
How is the guide different from your free France page?
The page explains the rules; the guide is built for doing the work. It adds three worked household examples, a first-year cost plan, a document tracker and a month-by-month plan, the official document lists for each residence card, your household’s numbers, transfer duty and notary fees worked out at five prices, the article 155 B regime in detail, deadlines, a glossary and key numbers, plus the Excel workbook and the Word checklists.
How current is it?
Every rule and figure was checked against official sources on September 25, 2026, and each is numbered to its source. Where we could not reach a source, such as the France-Visas portal, the guide says so. Each edition is dated; a later edition is a new purchase. If you find an error in your file, we send a corrected copy free.
Does it give a visitor income figure for couples?
No, because the official page publishes a figure for one person only, and we do not invent one. The guide explains what counts toward the figure and what to ask the consulate.
Is it legal or tax advice?
No. Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains how the rules work in general and lists the questions to take to a licensed lawyer and a cross-border tax adviser.
What if a file will not open?
If a file will not open, email us with your order number and we will put it right by sending you a working copy free of charge.
Will my card statement say Quantum Jetset?
It will show MEGACOMMERCIALENT, the payment name of Mega Commercial Enterprises Limited, the Irish company behind Quantum Jetset.
Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains the rules in general, with official sources checked on September 25, 2026; check the source before you act and speak to a licensed professional where it matters.
