Czech Republic Relocation Guide

Everything on our Czech Republic page, taken further and turned into a working file: a 90-page guide with document lists by route from the Czech Embassy’s own checklists for U.S. applicants and the Digital Nomad Program’s rules, the long-term visa funds test and the Embassy’s fees for your household, the salary floors, VAT and the land registry fee worked out at five prices, and a month-by-month plan; an Excel workbook that does the arithmetic; and a Word checklist you check off as you go. Every rule and official figure is taken from, or calculated from, an official source, 141 of them, checked on September 25, 27, 28 and 29, 2026; the worked households use assumed incomes, labeled as such.

What You Get Beyond the Free Page

Our Czech Republic page is free and stays free. The guide adds the parts you need when you actually start the paperwork.

Chapter or toolWhy it matters
Three worked householdsA retired couple on Social Security and a company pension in Brno, a remote-working couple with two children in Prague, and a single early retiree on investment income in Olomouc, each taken through the route the rules point to, the tests line by line with each person tested on their own funds or pay, the first-year fees and the monthly lines with an official figure (composite examples: their incomes and savings are assumptions, not real clients).
First-year cost planThe Embassy’s and the Ministry’s fees and the official references, and the monthly running costs, with a column for your own figures; it matches the workbook, and it says plainly where no official figure exists, such as a health insurance premium.
Document tracker and month-by-month planEach document by route with where to get it, the 180-day age limit and any apostille or translation rule an official source states, plus a plan from 12 months before the move to 3 months after, as checklists in Word.
Document lists by routeThe Czech Embassy in Washington’s checklists for the visa for other purposes, the business visa and the family visa, its employee card list, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Digital Nomad Program rules, each dated to the version we read.
Your household’s numbersThe long-term visa funds test for 1 to 4 adults and 0 to 3 children, for 12 and 6 months, the Digital Nomad and Blue Card salary floors and the Embassy’s fees, in koruna and dollars.
Purchase costs, workedNo transfer tax; the 12% or 21% VAT on a new home and the land registry fee, at five prices, and what each price buys at the 2025 averages.
Numbers, deadlines and glossaryEmergency numbers in the official wording, the Czech Embassy and Consulates General for each U.S. state, the deadlines that repeat, and the local terms you will meet.

Made For

  • Americans who have chosen the Czech Republic, or narrowed it to the Czech Republic and one other country.
  • Remote IT and marketing professionals working for U.S. employers, and their partners and children.
  • Employees with a Czech job offer, people starting a business, and people with family in the Czech Republic.
  • Anyone who wants to arrive at a lawyer’s or tax adviser’s office already knowing the rules.

What It Is Not

  • Legal, tax or immigration advice. It explains the rules in general; your case needs your advisers.
  • A retirement visa: the Czech Republic has none designed for retirees, and the guide says so, with the long-term visa for other purposes that, by our reading, retirees look to.
  • Residence by investment: the only investment route needs CZK 75,000,000 and 20 new jobs.

Questions About the Guide

How is the guide different from your free Czech Republic page?

The page explains the rules; the guide is built for doing the work. It adds three worked household examples, a first-year cost plan, a document tracker and a month-by-month plan, document lists by route, your household’s funds test and fees, VAT and the land registry fee worked out at five prices, deadlines, a glossary and key numbers, plus the Excel workbook and the Word checklists.

How current is it?

The sources of our Czech Republic page were read on September 27 to 29, 2026, the U.S. federal and some EU sources on September 25, and the sources added for the guide’s own chapters, including the Embassy’s checklists and fees, on September 28; each figure is numbered to its source, which is marked with the day it was read. Where we found no official figure, such as a health insurance premium, the guide says so. Each edition is dated; a later edition is a new purchase. If you find an error in your file, we send a corrected copy free.

Does the Czech Republic have a retirement visa?

Not by that name: we found no Czech visa designed for retirees. By our reading, retirees look to the long-term visa for other purposes, followed by a long-term residence permit. The guide sets out the funds test, the Embassy’s checklist, the fees and the questions to take to a lawyer, with a worked example of a retired couple.

Does the guide cover the Digital Nomad Program?

Yes: who it is for, the salary floor, the documents for inclusion and for the embassy, family members, the tax questions, and a worked example of a family in which only one partner is the nomad.

Is it legal or tax advice?

No. Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains how the rules work in general and lists the questions to take to a licensed lawyer and a cross-border tax adviser.

What if a file will not open?

If a file will not open, email us with your order number and we will put it right by sending you a working copy free of charge.

Will my card statement say Quantum Jetset?

It will show MEGACOMMERCIALENT, the payment name of Mega Commercial Enterprises Limited, the Irish company behind Quantum Jetset.

Quantum Jetset does not give legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice. The guide explains the rules in general, with official sources checked on September 25, 27, 28 and 29, 2026; check the source before you act and speak to a licensed professional where it matters.
